The Rise In Responsiblity of Disability Service Providers

The Rise in Responsibility of Disability Service Providers

Throughout the years, the roles and responsibilities of disability service providers have grown significantly.  Today, this specialized field assumes a critical role in many aspects of a student's education.  These keynote speakers will highlight current issues facing the field in:

  • Non-standard accommodations (e.g., attendance policies, course substitution, degree requirements, internships/co-ops);
  • Animals on campus (service versus assistance animals);
  • Utilizing assistive technology in accessible event planning, Autism Spectrum Disorder, serving    veterans, and peer mentoring;
  • Attendees will have an opportunity to nominate a fourth broad category to be explored.

Attendees will examine each of these individual topics in depth during roundtable discussions before returning to a large audience.  Furthermore, attendees are strongly encouraged to submit relevant legal cases or institutional issues when registering that may be further explored during the discussion sessions.
