Dave Dickman

Serve and protect. It’s a message that Dave Dickman believes in.

Since his youth, Dave has been fascinated with law enforcement, but it wasn’t his first job. Dave earned his Associate’s Degree in Accounting at Quinsigamond College, and held positions at Reed Plastics for nearly two decades. He also worked in the financial industry and wrote in his spare time.

In 2007, his interest in law enforcement and his work experience converged when a mutual acquaintance introduced him to the Chief at the Holden Police Department. Dave soon became a full-fledged member of the department as a Police Service Aide. His responsibilities include managing police reports, payroll and firearms licensing and the department newsletter.

“Camaraderie, unlike any other job I’ve ever had, it’s truly a unique membership, it’s a family. I’m honored to be part of this brotherhood.”

The fact that Dave has Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or Brittle Bone Disease, doesn’t prevent him from driving to work and spending his spare time at the shooting range.

Dave’s future plans with the Holden Police Department include becoming a dispatcher and perhaps one day, tackling forensics work.
