The ENI is committed to bringing employers and job-seeking candidates together.

Polus Center Candidate Meet & Greet Webinar: June 3, 2020, 10:00- 11:00 am

Employers are invited to attend a robust, 1-hour networking and practice webinar to meet up to 4 Employment Now Initiative (ENI) candidates and hear from the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) Commissioner, David D’Arcangelo about the benefits associated with employing individuals with visual impairments. Candidates will “practice their pitch” and employers will be encouraged to ask them follow up and interview-like questions. A facilitated cross-dialogue will build the interview experience and confidence of all stakeholders - a win-win learning experience for all!

MEET THE CANDIDATES

All candidates are currently interning at Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI)

Grace Van Dyck

  • BA in Communications from Dean College
  • Interning in Patient Relations providing customer service and administrative support
  • Member of MEEI’s Patient and Family Advisory Council, where she also charts and analyzes patient statistics
  • Seeking - full time employment providing superior level customer service/patient relations with a flair for data entry and analysis

James Tran

  • BS in Applied Mathematics from UMass Amherst
  • Interning in Information Services supporting hospital employees with tools such as Active Directory and Remote Desktop Connection utilizing both verbal and written communication
  • Seeking – support help desk position in a fast paced, competitive environment

Ken Lenard

  • Dual BS in Business Administration (Management) and Criminal Justice from Worcester State University
  • Paralegal Certification from Boston University
  • Interned for the Massachusetts Trial Court System and a Congressional Office, provided the highest level of front-line customer service to litigants and constituents
  • Interning in the Public Safety Office, providing efficient dispatch support to security officers, address staff badge access concerns and assist with various special projects
  • Seeking - a career in compliance, healthcare insurance

Melissa Remington

  • BA in Interdisciplinary studies from Lasell College with focuses in Psychology, Sociology and Economics
  • Passionate about quality of life especially for those with disabilities, mental health concerns and addiction issues
  • Interning in the Clinical Radiology Department, providing administrative support
  • Seeking - an phone based advocacy position
